Overview

Apartment communities needed an online scheduling workflow that could connect prospective renters with tour availability exposed through external systems.

What I Did

I built the backend service from scratch and integrated third-party APIs into the Apartments.com product flow.

  • Handled the boundary between Apartments.com workflows and third-party APIs.
  • Built the service for production use within the existing marketplace environment.
  • Coordinated technical delivery with the surrounding product and business workflow.

Engineering Decisions

Third-party integrations work best when the product owns a stable internal contract. That boundary limits how much vendor behavior spreads through the rest of the application.

Outcome

The service enabled online tour scheduling for multifamily apartment communities. The retained sources do not contain defensible adoption or conversion metrics, so no quantitative outcome is claimed.
